Practice areas

Our legal services in Sydney

Thirteen services across three practice areas. Each is described plainly so you can work out whether it is what you need before you pick up the phone.

Criminal Law

Representation from the first police contact through to hearing or sentence, in Local, District and Supreme Court matters across Sydney.

Criminal Defence Lawyers

Defence for charges of any seriousness, from first appearance to trial.

We prepare the defence case properly: reviewing the police brief, identifying weaknesses in the evidence, advising on plea, and appearing for you in court. You deal with the same solicitor throughout rather than a different face at each mention.

Criminal Law

Advice on charges, bail, apprehended violence orders and appeals.

Practical advice on where you stand, what the likely outcomes are, and what the process looks like. This covers bail applications, AVO proceedings, traffic and drink-driving matters, section 10 and conditional release applications, and appeals to the District Court.

Fraud Offences

Defence in dishonesty and fraud matters, including complex document cases.

Fraud allegations usually turn on documents and intention. We work carefully through the paperwork, obtain expert or accounting evidence where it helps, and put a clear case on your behalf — whether the matter is a Local Court charge or an indictable proceeding.

Legal Representation

Court appearances and advocacy in criminal and civil proceedings.

As solicitors and barristers we appear for our own clients, which keeps costs down and means the person who prepared your matter is the person who speaks for you in court.

Family Law

Separation, parenting and property matters handled calmly, with an eye on settling where a settlement is genuinely in your interests.

Family Law

Parenting arrangements, property settlement and financial agreements.

We advise on how assets and superannuation are likely to be divided, how parenting arrangements are decided, and what a court would consider. Where agreement is possible we document it properly through consent orders or a binding financial agreement.

Family Lawyers

Ongoing representation through mediation, negotiation and court.

From the first conference through dispute resolution and, if necessary, proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court at Parramatta. We are direct with you about the likely outcome instead of encouraging a fight that costs more than it recovers.

Divorce Law

The legal framework around separation, divorce and the 12-month rule.

Divorce is a separate step from dividing property or arranging care of children, and there are time limits that follow it. We explain how the pieces fit together so nothing important is left until it is too late.

Divorce Lawyer

Preparing, filing and serving divorce applications.

We prepare sole or joint applications, deal with service, handle applications where a spouse cannot be located, and appear at the hearing where attendance is required.

Wills & Estates

Straightforward estate planning, and steady assistance for executors and families after a death.

Wills & Estates

Drafting wills, powers of attorney and enduring guardianship.

A short conference is usually enough to prepare a will that reflects what you actually want, along with a power of attorney and appointment of enduring guardian so someone can act if you cannot.

Estate Planning

Structuring an estate to reduce tax, delay and family disputes.

We look at how your assets are owned — jointly held property, superannuation, company and trust interests — because much of an estate can pass outside the will. Planning around that is what prevents disputes later.

Probate Lawyers

Applications for probate in the Supreme Court of NSW.

We prepare the inventory of property, publish the required notices, and lodge the application, then help the executor deal with banks, share registries and Land Registry Services.

Wills & Probate

Letters of administration and estates without a valid will.

Where there is no will, or the will cannot be located, we advise the entitled next of kin and apply for letters of administration so the estate can be dealt with lawfully.

Estates Administration

Collecting assets, paying debts and distributing the estate.

Administering an estate is largely administrative work with real legal consequences for the executor. We keep the estate accounts in order, deal with creditors and claims, and attend to the final distribution.

Not sure which of these applies to you?
